So I've been playing on the servers for a few months now, and over the last month or so I've been writing down things I've noticed that might help improve server experience.
1) Reset Ranks
ZOMG the higher ranking people are screaming "NO FUCKING WAY!!! I WORKED HARD FOR THAT RANK!!" while the other 200,000 players aren't even vastly interested in their rank because there is a 500,000 point difference between where they are and where #1 is. 500,000 points takes weeks/months of straight gameplay to even come close. So all the rank comes down to then is who has been playing the longest and who has been playing the most. Not by any kind of skill or consistency in accuracy or anything technical. Just time.
2) Advertise that mytf2 isn't a clan, and open to all
I'm not sure what the drama is with the mytf2 tag - something about the other players being intimidated by seeing a lot of mytf2 on one team? Well, if they knew it was open to everyone, they wouldn't think that everyone is an admin or that they are some higher power player. Just a member of the mytf2 community.
3) Fix voting
I saw this was addressed in another thread, but consider this my vote. (tip: for anyone who hasn't read that thread, if you nominate a map before doing rtv - more map choices will show up)
4) Quake settings don't save
Hey, we all like the female quake noises. especially when you get monster or unstoppable kills...but they don't save once you leave the server. I'd check the quake settings config somewhere in the mod config. Should be in there. Not sure why it wouldn't be, whats the point of settings if they don't save? =D
5) More maps like steel
Cranetop, oilfield, just some different maps to nominate into the voting.
6) AFK manager doesn't work for recent donators
Shortbus and I get kicked for being AFK and we're both donators.
That is all I've got so far. Obviously, since I've been playing at the mytf2 servers for the past few months, and have logged some serious hours into the servers, that I think they are awesome, and a great TF2 experience, so you guys have done a fantastic job on the community, and I know first hand the kind of work it takes to manage a community, so I respect all the seniors for it. Thanks

1) Agreed. The top 10 players who have all those points wouldn't mind resetting. I mean, they got there for a reason. Playing a LOT of TF2 on the mytf2 servers. So, I think resetting wouldn't be upsetting to any high ranking player because if they just stick to their regiment, they'll still remain at the top
2) Hmm. Periodically, a server message appears telling people to visit the website and sign up. Even at the end of my personal playing time, I usually display a message saying "Thanks everyone for playing..visit us at this website and sign up".
3) Yep, multiple maps still appear when voting happens =/
4) Mine always save? hmm.... I dont know about this one.
5) There are talks of opening a new server to the public...hopefully it will NOT include the maps we always play. Maps like oilfield and cranetop, unfortunately, are custom maps and I don't think the seniors like running those. Maybe we could run them now? I dunno why we don't run them more TBH......
6) Agreed.

Some good points, I don't know about the first one though.
I'd also like to point out, AFK manager has never worked for me.

Your first point is interesting, but i'm not sure if it would go over too well with everyone. Personally, I wouldn't be too saddened...but at least let me beat r2 on the rankings before we go resetting stuff
With the clan thing, lots of people think it's a clan, tags or not. I dont even WEAR the tag and i get accused of being part of the clan lol. I'll say its a group anyways though. I'm not sure how to drill it in that it isnt a clan though. I think that will take time.
I agree about the quake settings. The female voice trumps all the other voices. Hands down. Especially when you get to 'god like' and 'holy shit'. If there is a way to save it when you leave the server or even when it switches maps, can some one let me know?
My only other suggestion is more customs, but i know that it's not going to happen any time soon (But it's been explained, so no worries)
These were really good suggestions!

Indeed that's true. So its a win-win really. Basically it gives us goal oriented people something to work towards since we've already got all the achievements. I think the only achievement I don't have is the "Friends like these" and that one is only a matter of time.

Yeah that still doesn't really say that mytf2 is OPEN to anyone. It just says to signup on the forums, which anyone can do in just about any "clan".

That would be nice for sure. The maps we play are fun, but after you log 60 hours in 4 days on only 2 servers - the map rotation gets a little old. So a chill place to play new maps would rock. All in fair time I imagine.

Folks, I placed oilfield in rotation server last night. Upon loading up, the server began to empty. This server has been full every nite until 5am when it restarts for over a week.
I will give it another shot. Once again, if it can't keep the server full, I will dump it.
So, I'm giving it a shot, but walk the walk folks. Talk is cheap.
I will look into maybe clarifying the community thing in our ads
As far as the afk manager. I will look into it. If you are in spectate mode, you should be carried through one map reload before a kick ( I do it often). If your sitting afk in spawn, you may be kicked even if you donate.
As far as Quake sounds, not sure if the mod allows to save settings or not. I will look into it.
Point resetting... not sure where I would stand on that. Regardless of where I would stand, Antithasys owns the accounts. There may be many reasons that we might not want to reset all the numbers. I can think of a few real good ones. We have a database of over 105,000 players. Many groups would die for that, so I'm not sure we would be so keen on just giving it up. Not sure how it all works, but I will look into it and see what info I can share with the group as a whole.
Keep the suggestions going, but may I make a suggestion?
1) If you ask for a map and someone delivers it for you. PLAY IT!
Thanks
